Anna Minton Talk

6pm

Come join us for a presentation by revolutionary journalist, Anna Minton, writer of “Ground Control: Fear and Happiness in the 21st Century City” .

The book is centred around issues that have stemmed from big city urban planning and the privatisation of public spaces. Ancoats has particularly been affected by urban city development and as a result the the look of an already beautiful area of Manchester has changed, and the spirit of a once thriving industrial district has been transformed. Urban planning is a huge inner city issue so take this chance to intervene in what could be the future of Britain as a whole.

Have your say about the issues we as a city are facing and help to shape the future of Manchester.

“To Hell With Culture” Film Screening

8pm

Join us for an intimate screening of the independent film “To Hell with Culture”, directed and produced by Huw Wahl.

The film focusses on the life of renowned art critic Herbert Read, and reveals his revolutionary concept for a future society where the innate focusses are cooperation and social harmony. A society where culture and anything else that separates us as people are thrown out the window. The film deals with themes that are incredibly controversial and as a result the screening will be followed by a Q&A with director Huw Wahl.

This is not an event to be missed!
