Upper Space is looking for 6 new artists / facilitators to join our crew…
Deadline for Applications – 5pm // 11th January, 2013.
Calling all artists mischief makers, schemers and rebels…
Upper Space is an award winning public realm arts organisation that works with some of the world’s best street artists…
In February 2013 we will be starting a new series of experimental outreach projects across the Greater Manchester area as we engage young people and challenge their perceptions of consumerism, the advertising industry and the ‘You Are What You Own’ culture that prompted around 15,000 young people to take to the streets in 2011 during the UK riots.
We have years of experience of working with young people from a variety of social and economic backgrounds, and next year we are looking to create a fully trained and skilled up crew to deliver our exciting new series of workshop pilots in 6 areas of Manchester:
- Moss Side
- Cheetam Hill
So if you are in the Greater Manchester area and are interested in joining us as a paid freelancer for this experimental new outreach program, get in touch on the email below and we will send you an application pack. When completed successfully, we shall be expanding the workshop program over 2 years in 2013/14 and we are looking for a crew that will develop alongside us…
We are looking for:
- 6 new artists / facilitators
- for 6 pilot workshop programmes (3 sessions per pilot)
- £100 per artist per session (4 hrs max. per session)
All successful applicants will also be fully trained in facilitation and community engagement processes so previous experience is not essential. We will also provide CRB checks for all successful applicants.
We are looking for creative thinkers more than fully trained artists so don’t worry if you feel that you are not qualified. Our application form and our interview process isn’t your usual deal, so we look forward to hearing from you…
